Miles of Hope
The Official Miles Of Hope Courtesy Shuttle
The Hudson Buick GMC Courtesy Shuttle, honoring the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, can be seen on roads throughout the Hudson Valley. Michael Mullaney, President of Hudson Buick GMC, decided to increase breast cancer awareness by designating the GMC Acadia as the official Miles of Hope Courtesy Shuttle. "I have named the car for my sister who had breast cancer, " Michael explained, "She was diagnosed at the age of 38 and valiantly and without complaint fought for 16 years. She passed away at age 54 in 1999. She was and will always remain my hero. The car is called "Dottie" and my hope is that it will bring awareness to breast cancer prevention as well as donations to the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation."
"The key is early detection." explained Miles of Hope Co-Founder Cathy Varunok. "If you see a bright pink car driving down the road and it reminds you to get a mammogram, we are thrilled."
"Along the same lines, if a pink car reminds you to exercise and focus on good nutrition and healthy habits, then the message is even that much better." added Miles of Hope Co-Founder Dana Effron.
